SIP AND CELEBRATE WITH BARRELL BOURBON
Sip and celebrate with Barrell Bourbon New Year 2017 Limited Edition.
To date, every release of our bourbon has been a marriage of casks produced in the same distillation season. We do this to highlight different production styles, aging techniques and age expressions. To commemorate the New Year we’ve crafted a special blend - Barrell Bourbon New Year 2017 Limited Edition. We combined barrels that were distilled and aged from 5 to 13 years from three different states, then bottled at 117 proof. We had one goal in mind, to make the most captivating, delicious bourbon we could.
Whisky Advocate Reviews
We’re thrilled that both Barrell Bourbon Batch 008 and 009 were included in Whisky Advocate’s 2016 Winter Buying Guide. Fred Minnick rated Barrell Bourbon Batch 009 a 90 saying “oak, leather, cigar box, marmalade, grape jelly, a plethora of baking spices and toffee. This beautiful study of barrel strength bourbon needs no water. Caramel in all forms, from candies to syrup, follows this home for a long and delightful finish.”
Barrell Bourbon Batch 008 was rated an 88 and described as “... a dance of the caramel/vanilla-combo richness with brown sugar, butter and toffee… you need to appreciate barrel strength whiskey to capture it’s essence…a splash of water opens it up, giving more caramel, walnut and whoopee pie. Long caramel finish.” Bestselling author Fred Minnick is a contributing editor to WHISKY and regularly writes Whisky Advocate features. He serves as a judge on the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the World Whiskies Awards.
Barrell Bourbon Batch 008
Barrell Bourbon Batch 008 is a straight Bourbon Whiskey distilled in Tennessee with a mash bill of 70% corn, 25% rye, 5% malted barley, and aged for 9.5 years. Bottled in Kentucky at 132.8 proof, it’s a delightful blend of spice and flavor. Though sweet in the nose, this bourbon is dry and complex with a long and sumptuous finish. Reviews of Batch 008 have said it “delivers a bold experience” and has a “consistent flavor profile throughout, with a spiciness that blooms at the finish and then tapers.” Kara Newman, writing for Liquor.com lists Barrell Bourbon Batch 008 as “one of the 6 great bourbons you should be drinking with your friends.”
Barrell Bourbon Batch 009
Barrell Bourbon Batch 009 is our oldest bottling to date. This straight Bourbon Whiskey was distilled with a mash bill of 75% corn, 18% rye, 7% malted barley and then aged in Tennessee and Kentucky for 13 years. Bottled in Kentucky at 112.10 proof, Batch 009 is simultaneously our oldest and also lowest proof bourbon. As a result, tropical fruit notes resonate amidst the mellow warmth. For those in search of full barrel proof flavors without high rick house heat, this is the bourbon for you.
Barrell Rum Batch 001
Be on the lookout for our Barrell Rum Batch 001, available now. It’s a Jamaican pot still rum distilled and aged in Jamaica for 7 years in previously used bourbon barrels, then further aged, crafted and bottled in Kentucky at 134.73 proof. Full-flavored and seductive, this rum evokes the sun-drenched breeze traveling across recently rained on tropical forests. The bourbon barrel finishing is complementary to the rum, adding a woody sweetness and a unique pungency. This is a very limited release so get it while you can.
