BARRELL WINS BEST IN CLASS AND DOUBLE GOLD AGAIN AT SAN FRANCISCO WORLD SPIRITS COMPETITION

GREAT NEWS OUT OF SAN FRANCISCO

We're thrilled to share that 14 of our spirits were awarded Gold medals or higher at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition; 2 Best in Class, 8 Double Gold medals, 6 Gold medals in total. We're honored by the recognition, especially as it comes from one of the most respected competitions in the world. Below is the complete list of awards: BEST IN CLASS Barrell Private Release Bourbon BA1C – Showcases a fresh corn-forward sweetness and has a component age statement of 45% 5-year, 25% 10-year, 25% 14-year, and 5% 16-year bourbons. Barrell Private Release Rum B617 – The base rum, which is from Barbados, makes up 61% of the final blend. The marrying and finishing were done in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Barrel. DOUBLE GOLD WINNERS

Barrell Bourbon Batch 024 – A 9-year-old blend of straight Bourbon Whiskeys. A gentle nose balancing blonde tobacco, pear, and coffee ice cream belies an intense palate of cola and spice. Barrell Bourbon Batch 025 – A 5½-year-old blend of straight Bourbon Whiskeys. High-toned and zesty, this bourbon initially resembles a glass of fine Madeira. But a little time, a splash of water, or an ice cube will unleash its sweet pastry notes, woodsy spice, and sweet, rich palate. Barrell Bourbon Batch 026 – A 9-year-old blend of straight Bourbon Whiskeys. Like a well-aged Sauternes, a complex array of fresh, dried, and cooked fruits dominates the aroma, supported by pungent florals and a delicate layer of barrel-spice. Barrell Bourbon Batch 027 – A 5-year-old blend of straight Bourbon Whiskeys. At times bright and juicy, at others, brooding and oxidized, but while there are many flavors to be found, cherry stands above them all. Barrell Private Release Whiskey DH34 – A blend of Kentucky Whiskeys, the largest component being 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey, finished in an Oloroso Sherry Barrel. Barrell Seagrass – A blend of American and Canadian rye whiskeys, with each ingredient sourced and finished separately in Martinique Rhum Agricole casks, apricot brandy casks, and Madeira barrels. GOLD WINNERS

Barrell Armida – A blend of three Straight Bourbon Whiskeys finished separately in Pear Brandy, Jamaican Rum, and Sicilian Amaro Casks. Barrell Private Release BA2K – Presents a buttery corn and grain-forward sweetness and has a component age statement of 40% 5-year, 40% 10-year, 5% 14-year, and 15% 16-year bourbons. Barrell Private Release BX1A – Features a viscous baked fruit and oak flavor and has a component age statement of 40% 5-year, 30% 10-year, 20% 14-year, and 10% 16-year bourbons. Barrell Private Release BX2i – Showcases a rich chocolate and caramel note and has a component age statement of 30% 5-year, 25% 10-year, 20% 14-year, and 25% 16-year bourbons. Barrell Private Release Whiskey DHA6 - A blend of Kentucky Whiskeys, the largest component being 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey, finished in a St. Agrestis Brooklyn Amaro Cask. Barrell Private Release Whiskey DH19 – A blend of Kentucky Whiskeys, the largest component being 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey, finished in a Cognac Cask.

EQUALLY EXCITING - our new brand Stellum Spirits won Double Gold for Stellum Rye and Gold for Stellum Bourbon.

The identity of Stellum Rye is rooted in a tried and true 95% Rye Indiana mash bill. To enhance this classic style, we incorporate small amounts more barley-forward rye and choice barrels from both Kentucky and Tennessee. This brings a full, round mouthfeel and flashes of buttery sweetness to an otherwise spicy and tightly focused Rye Whiskey.

Stellum Bourbon finds its flavor in the tension of three Indiana Bourbon mash bills, two of which are high-rye, with the third being almost exclusively corn bringing layers of depth and complexity. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the largest international spirits competition in the United States. Judging is blind and done by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized spirits judges, each selected for their distinct and trusted palate. With two decades of experience, the SFWSC has become one of the most respected competitions in the world.
