We're thrilled to share that we received 2 Double Gold and 2 Gold medals at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition; Judging is blind and done by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized spirits judges. This recognition comes from one of the most respected competitions in the world. DOUBLE GOLD WINNERS • Barrell Bourbon Batch 030 – An old-school bourbon that deftly balances the individuality of its many sources, incorporating notes of bright French cider with an array of subtle herbs, florals, and the richness of pumpkin pie. • Barrell Dovetail – Dovetail is blended to highlight some of our favorite flavors. Woody bourbon; terroir driven Dunn Cabernet; toasted French oak; Late Bottled Vintage Port pipes; black strap molasses casks; all working in tandem to create a buttery and deep whiskey as unique as it is delicious. GOLD WINNERS • Barrell Bourbon Batch 031 – A perfect autumn release, this batch’s notes of shortbread cookie, pumpkin pie, peppermint latte, and pine needles match the mood of sweater weather. • Barrell Bourbon Batch 029 – An initial burst of fruit: Williams pear and dried papaya on the nose, lime cordial on the palate; then a lengthy evolution through rye-driven mulling spices and rich oaky lactones.
EDITORS' CHOICE
Barrell Bourbon New Year 2022 was rated a 92 and selected by Whisky Advocate as Editors' Choice for Spring 2022. Highlights from Executive Editor David Fleming include: "The palate offers strawberry shortcake, allspice, ground chile pepper, and bitter espresso. Water brings out more peppery spice and dark chocolate. Excellent length on the finish, with semi-sweet chocolate cake, plum tart, cherry coulis, and savory spice at the back. Spicy, rich, lively, and flavorful." Barrell Bourbon Gold Label also earned 92 points with the tasting notes "Black cherry tartness, new leather, and clove-studded orange, along with bubble gum, cream soda, and chocolate layer cake sprinkled with cocoa powder. Flavorful and spicy on the palate, showing strawberry, baking spice, and cinnamon bun, with the flavors holding together superbly."

We're pleased to announce that BCS has become an official 2022 Cornerstone Partner of the National Women's Soccer League’s Racing Louisville Football Club. Our team at Barrell Craft Spirits, more than half of which are women, is thrilled to support women’s sports and Racing Louisville, the highest level professional sports team in our community. We’ve been excited since learning that the Lynn Family stadium was being built for Racing Louisville, knowing how significant it was for the community. The women’s team and the facility are both among the best in the country.
